Life in Panjab University, Chandigarh in the Mid 1980's
By Ndoria Wa Muya
Good looking Kenyans, yes there was Sarojini "girls hostel" then there were the Gurudwaras.....
Life in Chandigarh in the mid 80's was quite an adventure.
There were the hot summers, the chilling winters & of cause the in between.
There were the music & drama festivals at the main campus auditorium and the national days celebrations.
Not to forget the night bull dance parties at the freemason hall.
For the love birds there was the occasional boat rides at the Sukna lake, Rock garden and other hotspots within the city beautiful.
Close to my humble abode at 818, Sector 38A was 165 where many kenyan Giggs were held. There were the unforgettable Rugby nights where alcohol, song & dance flowed freely until the ungodly hours.
Then there was the fun filled rivalry between the Rugby titans Laibon Kariuki Echesa (RIP) & Nigger Charlie Angawa....
The Chandigarh chronicles tales are endless... the saga continues😏…
